Quoting Areas
Quoting areas – we have a number of different memberships to cover small to large companies.
If you just want to do mainly local work then we recommend you choose either bronze or silver if you want to do work around the country then we recommend gold and if you want to cover all quotes we recommend Top Banner membership.
Once you have entered your car details and rates you then enter your quoting areas. If a customer does an instant quote and they choose for example any of the states/counties that you have entered then the customer will get your instant quote for each car you have entered.
When a customer puts in an INSTANT QUOTE they will get a list of quotes from companies in the matched quoting areas. So if you have chosen Berkshire as one of your quoting areas and the customer has asked for a quote in Berkshire the customer will get your quote.
If you want to receive all quotes you would be recommended to take a gold membership which has a countrywide quoting area.
The customer will see your quote and can then send you more information asking for availability which you can reply back to the customer with confirmation.
Also the customer can do a company search in the directoy and get a quote from your company again you will receive more information and you can get back with the availability.
Job Board
This section is where you can post jobs so other companies can apply for them. On occasions you may not be able to do a job because all your drivers are busy or you do not have the required car that the customer wants or all your sub-contractors are busy so you have lost the job because of this but now you can post the job on Chauffeurs Network and reach other members who can apply to the jobs. This is a good way to find available partners and if you are happy with them you can add them to your network. This is a good way to help you grow your business.
Dead Mileage
The term Dead Mileage is the return leg of your Journey after dropping of a paying customer who has paid for the journey but on the way back you are not getting paid so this part of the journey is called DEAD MILEAGE.
So the dead mileage section is to help fill your return leg of your journey by adding your journey to the dead mileage calendar other companies can see when you will be dropping off and what car you will have and may offer you a job back and it is up to you and the company to agree on the price.
But rather than going back empty with no fare it is a good way of getting a fare even if it is slightly less than you would normally ask.
More help for adding cars and rates
1) Adding Cars and Rates
b) Then decide what your minimum charge should be and enter the first mileage range Start 0 End 20. We have set out an example above 0 < 20. For the Mercedes E Class you can decide what you want for the mileage range and the rate.
c) Then add your rate to each mileage range like in the example above we have added 2.5 for the E Class. So your minimum charge would be 20 miles times 2.5 which equals £50.
d) So for the first 0 – 20 miles the rate will be multiplied by 20 so if a mileage of 10 miles is quoted it will still always be 20 x your rate (in the example if the quote was 10 miles it would still charge your minimum rate 20 miles X 2.5 as in the example for the E Class Mercedes above.. So the customer would get a quote of £50 for 10 miles.
e) You can add any number of different mileage ranges with different rates giving you a flexible way to manage your rates and give your customers a true quote.
f) You can add edit or delete the example above to suite your requirements.
h) When a customer enters a journey from Start to Finish for an example the journey was 40 miles. Then the 40 miles would go through your mileage calculator. So if we look at the example below.
