Check out if your competitors are doing it better thatn you.

Some pretty simple human things are a good starting point for the behaviour of chauffeurs.

Polite, courteous, sensitive, quiet, well mannered, clean and tidy, well dressed, these are just some personal attributes.

Lets also look at the driving skills. You need to drive in a way that makes your passengers feel comfortable and safe. That does not mean the way you feel safe, it is how they feel that matters. If you dont bother to do that you probably will not get another booking from them.

Use their name if you know it, Mr  X  or Mrs X , in the first instance then if you get to know them they may ask you to call them by their first name but just never assume to do so.

The car has to be clean, both in and out. Not just clean but shining, after all they are paying you to bew taken on their journey. It should smell fresh in the car, definitely no tobacco smells or smells of food from the last meal you ate in a car park down the road. In the winter the car gets dirty on the outside, you can not help that, just make sure the windows are always clean when you pick up, that is a minimum standard i.e. your customers can see out of the car.

Lots more to come in another post.

Happy driving!

How many other have become experts in car parks and the lonely life of waiting in one ? The only upside is that as a chauffeur there is something or somebody that you are waiting for whilst you while away the time in a car parking space.

It is an expensive hobby if you have to pay a fee for parking, especially at airports where the hourly rates match those of the city centre. The toll regime is daylight robbery if the system is set up in favour of the car park owner. A popular trick is to charge in bands of 30 minutes, this means that as soon as you go over the first 30 minutes you get charged for a further half hour, that is, even if your total stay is 32 minutes you will have paid for a total hour. Phone pay is also a tricky system, you have to guess how long you will stay when you begin and any credit remaining if you leave before your stated time will not be refunded. The owner can then resell the car parking space and get a double revenue sale as the same spot has been sold twice for thew same period. Not bad eh ?

I would like to own a car park !

Bye for now, happy driving
