A Chauffeurs Tale Glyndebourne
A pickup in Mayfair and a nice easy ride down to East Sussex then wait and a return back to London seems like a good day! Packed my sandwich box and flask of tea cleaned the car filled up with petrol did the usual checks oil tyres etc... Usually not in that order!
Picked up the clients and made are ways down to the Glyndebourne Festival dropped of the clients and parked the car up in the car park thank god it was dry as I would hate to see what it would be like if it was raining! I saw some other chauffeurs and had a bit of a chat it is good when you meet up with others takes away the boredom but sometimes it is ok to rest in the car and listen to the radio and eat your food and drink your tea being a chauffeur this is part of the job! When you take a client to big events it is safe bet to park as close to the venue and wait the last thing you want to do is go away and get stuck in traffic and keep the customer waiting. Also while I am waiting I check out the car do a bit of cleaning generally making sure the car looks good for when the customers return.
Any way it was a good day out the customers enjoyed the day and seemed jolly they thanked me for looking after them and gave me a very nice tip! Being a chauffeur has its perks and by getting a tip you know you have done your job and the customer was happy it makes it all worth while.
